THE PEARL KATZ HONORARY LIBRARY has now been established at Cultural Intelligence Institute, in honor of the anthropologist who donated the first 2,000 books and journals of anthropology, culture, psychology, social science, and more to create this unique resource.
Dr. Katz, a noted anthropologist, author and member of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, stated, "I am so particularly glad that these books can be used and appreciated. It is important to me that these books will be used by those who are interested and can be inspired by them."
Dr. Katz's inspirational career includes publishing the book The Scalpel's Edge: The Culture of Surgeons, as well as peer-reviewed articles on such diverse topics as drill sergeants, psychiatrists, psychiatric hospitals, Taos Pueblo Indians, immigrants, and Ibsen.
Cultural Intelligence Institute is grateful and honored to accept this gift on behalf of all the cultural researchers to come, from such an accomplished and dynamic researcher!
